I finnaly found a job. It's pretty tuff around my town to find a job. Got a job at IHOP working 5 days a weeks 10pm - 6am. Hoping to make awsome tips!...cause that will mean awsome yarn!...after I get a place with my friend and need to find a car that secretly wants to kill me.

Bday Socks for myself just in time!

I finished my actual PAIR of socks for myself just in time, tomorow is my 21st birthday. And the sock fit PERFECT. very happy with them. Made them with my very deep blue Cascades Heritage yarn =)


And my parents got me this bottle wine for my birthday.So me...heehee




Kinda was bummed today. Been hoping to get a call from a job I thought I was going to get. Guess not...=(

Well Ive finished my Swallowtail shawl. But it needs to be dyed and then blocked to be completely done.

So freakin close to finishing the second sock of my very first ACTUAL matching FITTING socks...for me. On the cuff and what do I do...I start another project.hehe
     Im designing a messenger bag. Its not going to be as big as one I will eventually want. We'll call this one a lil purse like prototype messenger bag. I want to put something on the front of the flap but haven't decided on what yet. Hmmmm....

Most awsome Vday weekend EVER..and early Bday present from Mom and Dad

This was such and awsome weekend. For an early Bday present my Mom and Dad took me to Austin (TX) and we all three took a spinning class at Hill Country Weavers. I learned so much and had so much fun learnign how to spin! And I did good =)

And look at all the fiber we got! Most was all from the class, except the bag of raw(i think washed though) Alpaca from Gauge. Most is wool, but the curly green is Mohair...Ive never had mohair before =)

evil sock yarn....evil socks

I am about at the 'rip my hair out' point. I just want to make ONE pair of freakin socks! I bought 2 skeins of Deborah Norville sock yarn to make a PAIR of sock just for me. I had did one sock with some yarn I had got in Ohio but did not have enought o make two, AND it was tooo long for my foot. So yesterday I start my toe-up, short row heel sock using Deborah Norville yarn..toe...knit...knit...knit...knit...heel..knit..knit...try on

It huuuuge! Right length this time but is liek 5 times to big around, very loose knitting. I know i knit loosly, but not THIS loose. WTF!! I continues to knit to make a swatch. I had begun the sock with size 3 and i swatch all the way down to 0. Still no big difference in looseness. I think this yarn is loose itself. The other sock from the yarn in ohio was perfectly knit, just wrong size

Sigh* So i have brought out my hank of Cascades Heritage sock yarn I got in Austin.

Dear Yarn/knitting Gods,

Please please please please let me get a decent gauge, Please let it not be to loose, and work for a sock. Please shine you love upon this adventure to make a pair of socks. I have been so good, and have had patience and perseverance, but its startign to wear thin. O please let this pair work!

Mr. Silly Sock

This silly sock. *sigh I'm trying really hard to like making socks, should we all? I seem to always run into somethign when making one (ive made 3(singular) )
I started this sock and used for the FIRST time Toe up and Short row heel methods. I really enjoy both. everything was going grand, I did the toe, the the short row heel, made the cuff and put it on.....WEIRD, somethings of....O BOY, somehow I had made the heel crooked, off to one side....*siiiiiigh How I detest frogging things, even if if one row, in this case a whole heel! So I, reluctently, frogged the heel.I finished my heel today and the cuff(HURRAY not crook-ed!)..but alas...a big to long for my already big feet. Will the Sock Gods ever shine on me?


Now, SHHH! need to sneek into moms yarn stash for more sock yarn.MOoHoohAhha

OMG!!! AHHHHHHH!!!

OMG I think I almost killed my moms Jack Russel. I'm watching Chuck last night with my brother and working on my shawl...ONLY ONE MORE REPEAT TO GO! (in the chart) wooohooo right?! Not until good ol' JR gets all rowdy, ..under my desk...gets the yarn all rapped around his legs, I yell at him, He runs, and away my shawl goes flying off my desk, both my brother and i go to grap it. AT first look, it seems the shawl was OK......closer loook...NOOOOoOOOOOo! He ripped out like 20 stitches going about 3 rows deep. OMG I could have strangled that dog! It took the better part of the next half hour to fix the stitches. I feel really proud of myself for getting them fixed. I'm rather new to lace, and this is the first time I've used lace weight yarn..It was not a easy task, on the verge of crying, filled with frustration, and 2 cigarette breaks,and of course all the cuss words one could think of, I did it! Hurray go me...that dog is soooo lucky =)

i finished the hat
and want to make another, doing a lil mods to it.(of course the white string is not part of the finished product)
But i want to do it in another color, but i nly have black and grey heather(but i think its looks like silver), i also want to try making this hat in anther weight  but dont have enough yarn in good colors to make it out of decent yarn and am broke.. well dusnt this blow! sigh* ill just have to do with wat i got till i get more yarn. i cant await till my families yarn shop here in town will be open...austin is to far away and knitpicks would take to long. ug! ug!! ug!!...if i make this hat in black will the lace pattern show??? i wonder if im brave enough to try it and it not work and be really mad at it...

whew, wat a day trying to figure out all this html stuff. i am trying to get my "on and off the needles" staus bar stuff right. but seem to be html retarded now. its only showing my works in progress but i want it to show my finished and hibrnated one too.. off to read more forum posts about this and hope to understand something.

and the work more on my hat that i am designing....havent figured out how i am going to do the decreases yet. its one of ths 'slouchy hats'
